So we rolled out a little thing we like to call “Featured Burners”. What is a “Featured Burner” you ask? Well, let me tell ya!
If you didn’t ask, then…I’m gonna tell you anyways!
Featured Burners are people who use either Google Reader or Netvibes to share news stories and items on ReadBurner. And not just share…but share a lot. And not just a lot, but realllly cool stuff.
So we’ve plucked out some folks who share awesome stuff.
The inaugural class is to the right. You’ll see this box on mostly every page of ReadBurner. We’ll update this of course, but it will give you a good idea of the people behind what’s being shared. You can go right to their linkblog and subscribe to it, or bookmark their shared page on ReadBurner.
It’s all about you!
Let us know what you think. I was pretty happy to be able to get this going today.

13|Jun|2008 1I think will be good to show who has the better shares/”shares by other” ratio, otherwise I can share thousand of shitty posts and go to the top …

13|Jun|2008 2Edo, this is a purely editorial feature, ala the Featured Tweeters on Twitter.
There’s more on the way that are along the lines of what you’re talking about
No worries

13|Jun|2008 3Can you normalize the graphics so that JPhil’s head doesn’t dominate my screen? Mine is a 125 x 125 image, I believe.

13|Jun|2008 4Hey Louis,
Give her an old refresh, looks like you’re holding on to old CSS.

13|Jun|2008 5So it’s similar to the RSSmeme top tags/sharers except it is static and admin controlled?
RSSmeme’s top sharers takes the data that is on the page and figures out who shared most of those stories; so instead of being just the people with the most shares it’s the people who shared the most content that became popular.

13|Jun|2008 6Ben,
We’ve been taking the feedback we’ve been getting and we have been in turn getting a better and better understanding of the kinds of things people want to see at ReadBurner, so that’s how we’re directing our focus and efforts.

13|Jun|2008 8That’s great Drew but what I was wondering was just if it was static and admin controlled. I take it that it is from the post? (”So we’ve plucked out some folks who share awesome stuff.”)

From the comments…
“…this is a purely editorial feature, ala the Featured Tweeters on Twitter.”

13|Jun|2008 10Louis, what’s wrong with my head?? Rude.
Drew — great concept, and I’m not just saying that because my head dominates Louis’ screen. Although that is a plus.
